Susanna is the Director of Furnishings and Design, and she has over twenty years of buying and leadership experience. A native of Tuscaloosa, AL she earned her BS in Apparel and Textiles from the University of Alabama in 1998. Upon graduation, she worked for JCPenney at their corporate headquarters as a senior buyer. Nineteen years ago, she returned to Tuscaloosa and began her career at the UA as a senior buyer and project manager within the procurement department. Susanna began the Furnishings and Design department over 13 years ago with one design consultant and a student. Today the staff consists of ten designers, two design managers, three upholsters, one business manager, 12 student employees, and two administrative staffers.

To further her management education, she recently obtained her Master of Science degree from the University of Alabama in Conflict Management, Negotiation, and Mediation. She is dedicated to the development and advancement of her team by engaging them to collaborate on various projects within the UA campus. One of the most rewarding aspects of her job is that she leads a successful team in striving to provide the best customer service while advancing the goals and mission of our University community.
